Radiation burns

These can be caused by exposure to radiation, such as from the sun (sunburn), tanning booths, radiation therapy (for cancer), X-rays, or from nuclear medicine.

First aid for radiation burns depends on the source, but often involves rinsing the area with water, applying a non-stick, sterile dressing, and seeking medical help. If a nuclear radiation exposure is suspected, the person should be decontaminated if possible, and medical help sought immediately.
