SAFETY AND PROTECTION
You must ensure the safety for all. Ensure you are adequately protected against the risk of infection and any other adverse element such as chemicals and gases.
HAZARDS
Be aware of potential hazards such as traffic, chemicals, fire, gas, electricity etc.
ASSESS THE SITUATION
Before rushing in to deal with an incident, you must assess the situation that you are confronted with.
PRIORITISE
Ensure you prioritise the injuries, particularly if you have multiple casualties.
ENVIRONMENT
Pay attention to the environment around you, and do not take risks. Jumping into water to save a drowning victim is not a good idea if you can’t swim!
