Composition of Air

Our ability to breathe is thanks to our respiratory system which is made up primarily of our airways and our lungs. We are able to breathe in and out spontaneously providing we have air to breathe and the airways are open. The air we breathe in consists of approximately 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% argon and other gases.
