Inhalation burns
Inhalation burns occur when a person breathes in hot gases or fumes, and can cause damage to the airways and lungs.

Signs of an inhalation burn may include difficulty breathing, coughing, a change in voice, and burns around the mouth or nose.
Treatment for inhalation burns
- Call 999/112 and ask for an ambulance
- Try to loosen any clothing or jewellery around the casualty’s neck to help them breathe easier
