Ultraviolet light

Ultraviolet (UV) light can lead to an eye injury called corneal flash burn.

Exposure to the sun can cause radiation damage to the eye, leading to flash burn. Damage is most likely to occur if you are in an arctic environment where the sun glares off snow and ice, or when you are at high altitudes.
